Credit Reporting Set for Controversial HFSC Reform
Today’s HFSC hearing on credit reporting laid the foundation for legislative action on measures that will prove highly controversial.  Top among these is creation of a national credit-reporting agency along lines espoused by Bernie Sanders and then Presidential Candidate Biden.  Although Chairwoman Waters (D-CA) strongly supports this, Democrats today were either mute or unsupportive.  Democrats were more unified on legislation to govern the credit-reporting agencies more closely and mandate the exclusion of targeted credit data from their scoring models.
