Following our forecast of regulatory action in the wake of new law (see Client Report REFORM147) and the in-depth analyses referenced below, we here analyze a late Friday inter-agency release spelling out near-term actions as the agencies advance the proposals and other longer-term projects required by the Economic Growth, Regulatory Reform, and Consumer Protection Act (EGRRCPA). Nothing in the release addresses how the agencies will act on controversial rules that do not have immediate or near-term statutory deadlines.
