The International Organization of Securities Commissions has requested comment on a consultative paper focused on aligning global rules affecting asset-backed securities (ABS). It focuses in particular on transparency and risk retention, outlining concerns between divergent U.S. and E.U. practices on the latter contentious securitization-reform proposal that could encourage U.S. regulators to curtail exemptions to mandatory issuer risk retention.
