FinServ’s Capital Markets Subcommittee today kicked off GSE debate for the 113th Congress, showing the same wide partisan divide that to date has stymied progress towards substantive change in the conservatorships. Much of the session was an historical review, but forward-looking discussion shows remaining GOP objections to any USG role as a backstop-risk mitigator.
