Late yesterday afternoon, the House Capital Markets Subcommittee held a hearing on the next round of GSE-reform bills from the GOP. These are, Chairman Garrett said, still just “drafts,” likely accounting for why none has yet been formally introduced. FHFA supported those of the bills that will make no substantive difference from current policy and continued to object to those that it thinks complicate the conservatorship.
