With Bloomberg yesterday laying out the GSE-reform option under active Senate consideration, we can now go a bit deeper into how the new-style Corker-Warner option might work.  As we understand it, the idea is drawn from several recent reform proposals that establish a government corporation as the guarantor for the USG, deciding unlike them not to start from scratch but rather to take Ginnie Mae and make it both bigger and, it is hoped, better.
