The Senate Banking Housing Subcommittee today considered draft legislation that not only continues the trend of milking the GSEs for revenue through higher g-fees, but now also uses access to them as a club to force recalcitrant MIs and servicers to do Congress’ bidding. We doubt the bill will go anywhere, but the idea could.
