On December 21, Jeb Hensarling delivered his farewell address by way of an ill-attended – at least for HFSC Members – hearing on GSE reform. Although a non-event in terms of presaging Maxine Waters’ views or those of other key Democrats, witnesses who will forcefully influence 2019 debate laid out the most recent iteration of their GSE-reform objectives. In this report, we summarize key statements and assess their forward-looking impact.
