A bipartisan group of Members of Congress has introduced legislation to insulate all insurance companies from supporting insured depositories or otherwise being put at risk in the event an affiliated company is put into resolution by the FDIC.  The Federal Reserve could also be blocked from demanding that insurance-company parents downstream capital or liquidity to subsidiary banks at the possible expense of insurance subsidiaries.
