Sustaining Interest
In a hearing today on sustainable homeownership, FinServ leadership seemed to us largely to be trying to sustain hope in something happening sometime on something. Much of the session was rhetorical – the Democrats will have nothing to do with Chairman Hensarling’s suggestion that QM and QRM be repealed. But, aspects of it suggest to us some significant areas of possible bipartisan agreement, especially if concrete proposals set for meaningful legislative action start to emerge.
