In January of 2014, the USPS Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued a white paper (see Client Report POSTAL5) exploring how USPS could provide an array of financial products, sparking a loud outcry from banks, and strong support from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and others hoping to side-step banks.  Now, the OIG has released a new report that details several approaches the Postal Service could take to enter the market and, thereby, salvage itself.
