Chairman Hensarling announced a new FinServ subcommittee line-up that moves GSE reform from the Capital Markets to the Housing & Insurance Subcommittees. The relevant subcommittee chairmen then released a bit about the agendas they want to pursue in this Congress. Most of it isn’t surprising, but we took note of a mention of covered bonds, signaling renewed interest in a longstanding GSE alternative.
