The chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Cedric Richmond yesterday introduced H.R. 7262 with three senior CBC Members, creating a House companion to the Warren affordable-housing bill that made considerable waves earlier this year. Presidential politics will play a large role in House action on this proposal, which will also face daunting hurdles in the Republican-controlled Senate. That said, the measure lays out a lot of liberal asks to which incoming HFSC Chair Waters will listen carefully and sure also to surface when it comes to housing-finance reform.
